WOFBI

I dedicated 2021 to God and not only to serve him this year but for the rest of my life. Practically, I began by attending WOFBI. WOFBI means Word of Faith Bible Institute. It is a Bible School organized by Living Faith Church (aka Winners Chapel), where we are taught the Word of God(i.e. the Bible) and how to apply it in our daily lives.

I first attended Living Faith at Goshen, Abuja in May, 2018. My life changed since the day I listened to Pastor David Abioye’s sermon. I had a stronger faith in God. Choosing a church which I’ll attend in university was really an easy decision to make because of the instant touch I received during the sermon.

This is my first time attending WOFBI. I applied for the Basic Certificate Course (BCC), which is for beginners. I informed my friends and family that I’ll attend WOFBI. On my first day of WOFBI (May 17, 2021), I woke up having bad feelings about attending WOFBI. It felt like I was not going to scale through successfully. You know in anything one decides to do in life, and it’s good, there must be an obstacle. Yes, there’s someone who told me directly to my face that he can expel me from WOFBI and there’s nothing I can do. He told me that he dislikes me and people he tends not to like, he disciplines them in a very harsh way. Do you know who said all these things? Someone in authority. I went to meet the person in authority to take permission to be excused from that week’s Believer’s Foundation Class. This was because I had compulsory tutorial classes on Saturday in my university. Meanwhile, Believer’s Foundation Class holds every Saturday. Then, I heard him say he will expel any student, who do not attend the Believer’s Foundation Class. Afterwards, I asked why students will be expelled for not attending that week’s Believer’s Foundation Class after they must have paid their school fees even when they take permission. Then he got angry at me because I questioned him. I never thought that Bible school would be this tough. There was one morning, I cried. I almost gave up on the whole WOFBI class. I was tired. Not only that, but I was not myself. I told my sister, aunt and some of my close friends that I won’t attend WOFBI again 😔. Basically, everyone told me, Janet, you need to try and finish. There’s nothing easy in life, you must always face challenges and also conquer. Attending WOFBI together with lectures and tutorials has to be one of the most stressful and craziest thing I’ve ever done. I wanted to run mad at some point 😭 I wrote examinations and passed in all my courses 💃🏽. Then, finally I graduated on May 30, 2021, from WOFBI 2021 May Special!!! I got my certificate from Bible School! Wow! I’m screaming! I can’t even begin to thank God enough! God is so good to me ❤.

I had an aim for attending WOFBI. I aimed to have a stronger, better and healthier relationship with God. Yes, I had expectations because I believe that when once you decide to serve God and get to know him more, he will also make lines fall in pleasant places for you and get things done in your life.

Have you ever asked yourself, “why do I need God in my life?”. You need God because he is everything in life. He is the God that makes the impossible possible.
Why is the Word of God necessary in our lives?
•It is the key to growth and development as a believer and the source of faith. Romans 10:17; 1st Peter 2:2.
•The Word of God is packaged to provide solutions to every problem of life. Isaiah 34:16.
How can we communicate with God?
•Through Praises & Prayer.
•Through Vision.
•Through studying the Word of God.
How will we receive the Word of God?
•Come as a child. Matthew 11:23.
•Believe God’s Word. Luke 1:45
•Study God’s Word. 2nd Timothy 2:15.
How can we study God’s Word?
•Get a full Bible and writing materials(pen and notebook).
•Developed an organized way of studying.
•Let the Word of God dwell richly in you.
•Speak the Word of God to your situation. Mark 11:23
•Meditate on the Word of God. Ponder God’s Word(Philipians 4:8). Talk God’s Word(Ephesians 4:29). Walk in God’s Word(Ephesians 4:1). Personalize the Word of God(Hebrew 11:1;6). Visualize the Word of God(Hebrew 18:2).
How can we receive the reward of Meditation?
•Believe and practicalize the Word of God.
•Store up the Word of God in your heart.
•Speak the Word of God.
•Pray the Word.

The question now is, did I achieve my aim of attending WOFBI? Yes, I did. Looking back at the state of my life, I can boldly say that the word of God has dwelled in me richly and I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me (Philipians 4:13). If God be for me; who can be against me? (Romans 8:31). No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am certain that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor heights, nor depths, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate me from the Love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord Amen.
