Shall we begin?
This is my fourth year writing about the month of March! βΊππ½
March is a special month for me and will always be. On 21st March, I embarked on a road trip to Abuja, Nigeria. I woke up at 3am to prepare and I arrived exactly 6am at AKTC park in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. Guess what?!! We began our journey at about 8:30am. I was speechless! I asked myself, “If I’m leaving now, what time will I arrive at Abuja?”. I no fit believe wetin my eyes see for this journey ππΎπ. In Nigeria, Monday is declared as Biafra Day and it’s sit-at-home in South Eastern States. As a result of this declaration, we had to use the longer route and I was nervous with this whole decision (we actually had no other choice).
We spent not less than six hours at Cross River State. I heard it’s not safe to stay in Northern Cross River at night because human beings are killed and eaten. How true is this? We stopped at literally all the army check-points because the rate of Human Trafficking in this state has adversely increased. I was told that “recently, young girls were trafficked from Cross River to Cameroon”. This is scary! What exactly is Governor Ben Ayade doing about the alarming rate of Human Trafficking? Just as the slogan of Cross River implies “The People’s Paradise”, every person should enjoy the peace and happiness of living in paradise.
Next, we entered the Food Basket of the Nation, that’s Benue State! This state is blessed with foods of all kind. Can we discuss their natural resources? We have Limestone, Gypsum, Petroleum Oil, Coal, Natural Salt, Lead, Zinc, Clay, Gemstone, etc. Unfortunately, most of these resources remain untapped. I saw a working factory and I screamed! I thought it is governments owned π€£ but it’s the famous Dangote Cement Factory in Benue State. At some point, we switched off the Air Conditioner because we were tired of stopping at every filling station to buy fuel, it delayed us.
About 8pm, we entered The Home of Solid Minerals, that’s Nassarawa State! I couldn’t stop singing praises and worship when we entered Lafia, capital of Nassarawa, Central Nigeria. Lafia is one of the most unsafe cities in Nigeria today. Finally, we entered the Center of Unity, Abuja. This trip was crazy because the place I stood to wait for my uncle is a robbery point π. Immediately, my uncle came for me and we arrived home around 2am. Omg π©.
The last time I went on a road trip to Abuja, I was scared and OMO (On My Own) but this time, I was interestingly different. A Yoruba man brought up a conversation, he said “Southerners have Crude Oil but the Northerners are doing better”. First, Crude Oil is the largest export in Nigeria today. Who are the top leaders consuming the country’s money with no development and peace? The Northerners!
This trip taught me to keep building my relationship with God, live, love, laugh because life is good. I’m so grateful to God for a successful trip to Abuja and the splendid holiday I had with my cousins, aunt and uncle. I miss them so much π©π.
Your Favorite Blogger clocked 21 on 31st March, 2022 πππ½.
I’m screaming!! I can’t believe I am 21 years old π©. 21 years of God’s Faithfulness π. I’m so grateful for my new age ππΎ.
I remember the day I did my birthday photoshoot, it was a sad day. Tbh, I don’t know why I felt so down on such an important day in my life. Meanwhile, that’s not my first time having a photoshoot. Probably I had a very high expectation that everything will be perfect, I ended up stressing and having issues with everyone around me especially the photographer who I had a disagreement with, on my birthday. I was happy while planning for this photoshoot in 2021, I almost gave up on it but my siblings encouraged me and made me feel optimistic. When I got home on the day of my photoshoot, I cried, I was so worried about the pictures and how I messed up everything. Surprisingly, Streams of Thought Blog used my birthday picture to portray “Happiness is Beautiful”, I was speechless! It felt like she read my life, understood and made me feel absolutely better.
I was filled with emotions when I clocked 21. It’s been a series of learning, unlearning and relearning. Although, it’s been a rollercoaster journey but I just want to thank everyone who has helped me become who I am and where I am today ππΎβ€. The physiology of my body has really changed this new year. When I see how much I have grown and healed, I wish myself all the best!
I love my readers so much! Thank you for your constant support ππΎβΊ.
Cheers to Forever 21 π₯.
