Nigeria, which way?

I couldn’t wait another week without writing on the unimaginable things happening in Nigeria.

In my previous blog posts such as #EndPoliceBrutality🇳🇬, #EndSARS2020:Being Nigerian has been a traumatic experience, #EndASUUstrike, Life of a Public University Student in Nigeria, INSECURITY IN NIGERIA, I wrote about how it feels like being a young Nigerian living in Nigeria.

Today, Nigeria has gotten worse 🇳🇬💔

How can the future leaders of this country be at home for more than 3 months because of inadequate funds to pay Academic Staff Union of Universities(ASUU)? Nigerian Federal University Students have been at home for months now. 4 months of people’s lives stagnant and yet nothing has been done to #EndASUUstrike. In my blog post #EndASUUstrike, I discussed in details about ASUU strike, you can check it out ❤.

Now, students are struggling to survive and some may quit school because it seems like there’s no hope for them. I’m literally in tears now because we (the students) are the ones most affected from this ASUU strike.

Nigerians, how did we get here? One minute we are writing exams, preparing for our next semester and next thing, ASUU strike. How? Why?! It’s so devastating. I was still trying to recover academically from the last 1-year ASUU strike and now another strike? 😭. Our Leaders are not concern because their children are schooling abroad but they expect us to lead this same country better one day 🤦🏾.

On 28 March 2022, A Kaduna train from Abuja was attacked by armed bandits, at least eight passengers were killed, while 168 were kidnapped or declared missing. Out of this figure, one person was recently freed. The National Register of Citizens(NRC) suspended Abuja to Kaduna railway service while Federal Government vowed to rescue Kidnapped passengers.

On 5 June 2022, a massacre occurred in Owo, Ondo State! Gunmen attacked worshipers while they were having Mass at St. Francis Catholic Church, Owo, Ondo State. This is unbelievable! How do humans enter a church and kill worshipers?💔

I was shivering while viewing tweets about the Owo Massacre 😭.

We are literally surviving in Nigeria 😔.

Since our government have decided to be quiet,

•Educate and enlighten Nigerians on why they should get their PVC and Vote.

Vote! Vote! Vote! Vote for a better Nigeria.

PRAY: For it is written, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid” (John 14:27 NIV).

Finally, let’s unite to build a better Nigeria.

How’s this Month of June been for you?
You are welcome to share.

I’m sending everyone lots of love and lights. Please stay safe ❤.
